AM FLUSS
Die fotografischen Grundlagen zu den Bildern in diesem Buch entstanden im Laufe der
80er und 90er Jahre am Ufer des oberen Inn bei Telfs in Tirol.
In erster Linie ging es mir um die Idee als solche, die Poesie und die sinnliche Ästhetik,
welche sich aus der Natur und den vielen formgebenden Möglichkeiten (Sandzeichnungen,
Sonnenlichtprojektionen, Miniaturinstallationen mit Naturmaterialien...) entwickelte.
Das teilweise deckende und teilweise lasierende Überarbeiten der Motive mit Ölfarbe
(keine Computerbearbeitung) erfolgte später im Atelier.
Der geheime Charme des Kleinen, Stillen, Fragilen und des leicht Vergänglichen scheint
mir in der grobschlächtigen, lauten Welt unserer materiell orientierten Zeit besonders
berührend und wertvoll.
AT THE RIVER
The photographic material of the pictures in the book has come into existence during the
80ies and 90ies at the banks of the river Inn near Telfs in the Tyrol, Austria.
I was primarily concerned with the idea as such, the poetry and the sensual aesthetics of
the river banks with their creative possibilities (sand drawings, sun light projections,
miniature installations with found objects, etc...).
The partial covering and partial transparent additional colouring of the photographs with
oil paint was done in the studio without the use of a computer.
The secret charme of the small, the silent, the fragile and the highly transient seems so
me particularly moving and precious in this uncouth, noisy world fo our materialistically
oriented time.
